First Occurrence of the Genus Australatya (Crustacea: Decapoda: Atyidae) in Melanesia and Polynesia with Description of a New Species

During specific inventories led by the Muséum national d'Histoire naturelle (MNHN, Paris), numerous specimens of Atyidae, particulary Atya-like shrimps were collected in Melanesia (Vanuatu, Solomon Islands) and Polynesia (Futuna, Samoa). These morphologically genetically examined. Our study revealed that some belonged to a new species genus AustralatyaChace, 1983. The aim this paper is describe species, Australatya keithi sp. nov., discuss distribution its studied area.
